How to be a raw rockstar!
Friday, August 13
I’m pumped today, how about you? It might be the amazing Roar Vanilla chocolate (made with this rich ecuadorian cacao) that I’m munching on, or the stars aligning, or simply my gratefulness for the amazing people I interact with every day, coming back my way.
There are some incredible opportunities that I’m putting together for you, and all will be revealed soon, but lets just say they’ll catapult you towards your vision of health, success and happiness. And it’ll be Australia wide, so readers who’ve been hanging out for me to get to your neck of the woods - keep watch for details :)
So, where are you at with your raw journey?
I know you’re all rawk-stars, however sometimes you doubt it. Lofty goals are fantastic, and wanting to shift from a processed carnivore diet to fresh, natural, organic and raw embracing lifestyle is one of the greatest things you can do for your self.
But then winter comes along.
Or you eat something cooked, and that’s that - you’ve broken your promise, start again tomorrow.
Y’know - I think we need to lighten up and chillax - yes, I really said chillax :)
One of the worst things we can do to our body, mind and spirit is get all churned about about rules and regulations. We’re taught to beat ourselves up, and not be extraordinary, that when we go to make amazing change one slip up knocks us flat.
I started out 100% raw, and you could say I fell “off the bandwagon”. At first I thought I did, but then I embraced my “shortcomings” and forgave myself. And I set myself parameters to work within so when I do eat cooked vegan food, I know it’s an educated choice.
If you’re systems-minded like me (thanks, former IT career!) how about writing a “business plan” for your goals - whether it’s your weight, or fitness, commitment to organics, or other goals.
I’m working on my “slim-gaining” plan. It includes a Mission Statement, so I have a clear picture of where I’m headed; a Contingency plan, so anything outside of my control can work within my plan; and I have done a SWOT analysis so I know what my strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats are - these are built into my contingency plan so I have a positive fallback.
Coming from a place of love, forgiveness, gratitude, planning, and choosing the best food for the circumstances - starting with fresh organic produce, there is no reason for you not to be a Raw Rockstar.
What are you waiting for? The spotlight is calling YOU to the stage.
I wish you all an absolutely fantastic weekend. I’m heading down to Samudra again to hang out with Matt Samuelson. You’ll love the interview my hubby Chris recorded with him last weekend, I just need to get the editing finished. If you’re in the area, come and say hi - I’d love to meet you :)
And if you want to learn more about being your own RAWK-STAR, I’m running a fun dinner demo class at Loose Produce on Tuesday night (the 17th, in Como WA). I will be preparing dishes that made with nothing more than a knife and cutting board, and a blender or food processor. And for dinner you get smoothies, spaghetti and “neat” balls, raw pizza using ready-made raw breads (’cause sometimes you just want the easy option, or don’t have a dehydrator), pear and walnut salad. Dessert is Chocolate Dream Mousse and Key Lime Cheezecake.
The class starts at 7:30pm and it’s just $65. You get all the usuals too - lots of handouts and recipes, plenty of ideas, full dinner plus take aways, and you get to hang out with like minded people. (Psst - I’ll also be giving away some cool goodies… you gotta be there 100% to win though!)
If weekend classes are too difficult for you to get to because of family commitments, then come along for an evening of fun and deliciousness.
